About the Role

Business Insider is hiring a Social Media Video Fellow to join our Audience team. This fellow will distribute videos across various social networks and ensure our episodes reach our viewers. The Business Insider Fellowship Program is for early career journalists who want to spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate, dedicated journalists. Fellows produce real work that is distributed to our audience of millions and are prepared for the next phase of their journalism careers. This paid role requires working 40 hours a week, with hybrid options and at least two days per week in the New York City office.

Key Responsibilities

Upload and distribute fresh videos daily across all Business Insider channels on social platforms, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok
Generate compelling headlines, copy, and descriptions that grab the audience's attention and convey the essence of the video or story
Create thumbnails using Photoshop to optimize visual appeal and click-through rates
Ensure timely distribution of breaking news videos and stories across relevant social channels

Requirements

Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask
The ability to communicate clearly about their time management
Work experience with one or more social media platforms
Experience in packaging stories for publication
A passion for digital storytelling and voracious reading habits
Familiarity with digital and social media
The ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team
Proofreading and copyediting skills
