About the Role

As a Software Engineer III at Walmart Global Tech, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building robust backend systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. You will work across multiple domains, contributing to the development of scalable services that are critical to Walmart's digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support Walmart's digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features and solutions.
  • Build scalable and reliable systems that handle large volumes of traffic and data.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following engineering best practices.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems across environments.
  • Contribute to performance optimization, security improvements, and system resilience.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Java technologies, Distributed systems and large-scale application development and design.
  • Hands on experience with Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Cassandra.
  • Experience with containerization technology and Microservices.
  • Well versed in CI/CD and exposure to DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong adherence to SDLC process and Scrum/agile methodologies.
  • Work with Java, Multithreading, Data Structures, Algorithms, Design Patterns and develop robust high-performance and scalable applications.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience creating inclusive digital experiences.
  • Experience implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
