The Software Engineering Manager will lead a team supporting the Financial Crimes - KYC (know your customer) platform, focusing on technological solution delivery, mentoring engineers, and coordinating cross-team efforts within a fast-paced banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in the support and building of the Unified KYC Platform.
  • Guide and inspire excellent coding practices and solid software design decisions among your team.
  • Grow and mentor engineers regarding technical skills and career development.
  • Assist with cross-team strategic efforts and influence decisions to achieve efficient delivery of business value.
  • Own release schedules and work closely with software engineers, automation engineers, product managers, and dependent application teams to deliver high-quality products and features on time.
  • Coordinate multiple moving parts to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain products.
  • Write production-ready and testable code, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Perform analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and compliance.
  • Ensure all product development follows security and compliance standards.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritize and size tasks for incremental delivery, and communicate blockers or delays proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • 5+ years of leading a software engineering team.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Java Full stack developer.
  • 5+ years of experience in REST API & Springboot design and development.
  • Experience in leading high-performance onshore/offshore development teams and delivering complex enterprise systems.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins.
  • Experience in microservices design and development.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to interact with internal and external partners.
  • Advanced knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools.
  • Strong analytical, tactical planning, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, Kafka, Azure, and AWS.
  • Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business strategy and how technical and engineering strategies align.
