General Atomics Integrated Intelligence Inc. (GA Intelligence) develops cutting-edge software solutions that transform raw data into actionable intelligence. We specialize in real-time global situational awareness and battle management, processing petabytes of data from hundreds of sources across air, land, and sea. Our systems—including the widely used THRESHER and DRAGONSPELL platforms—support tens of thousands of users at all levels of the DoD and Intelligence Community and enable critical decision-making for national security missions. We operate at the scale of global sensor networks and battlefield telemetry, leveraging technologies like Kafka, AWS, NiFi, and GeoMesa to deliver high-throughput, mission-resilient systems that turn streaming data into real-time intelligence. We are a nimble, privately held company committed to solving complex, mission-critical problems that matter, with a focus on engineering excellence and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 3-5 software squads (typically 4-6 engineers per squad), focusing on performance, growth, team cohesion, and delivery.
  • Hire, onboard, mentor, and retain high-performing engineers. Support career development and conduct regular feedback and performance reviews.
  • Drive team accountability for timely, high-quality delivery. Remove blockers, manage priorities, and ensure clarity across teams.
  • Partner with tech leads to ensure sound software architecture, scalable backend systems, and robust analytics pipelines.
  • Work closely with Product, Data Science, and other Engineering Managers to align goals and deliver value.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and adaptive process improvement across teams.

Requirements

  • Experience leading and growing engineering teams, with a focus on full-stack development and user interface design.
  • Strong technical background in software architecture, backend systems, and analytics pipelines.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, design leads, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing performance, coaching, and team development.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering high-quality, reliable software in mission-critical environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
  • Familiarity with frontend and backend development tools and frameworks.
  • Previous experience in defense, intelligence, or related high-security domains.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in software engineering leadership.
  • Strong understanding of full-stack development and system architecture.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Benefits & Perks

  • Opportunity to work on mission-critical, impactful projects.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Long-term career growth in a trusted and stable organization.
