Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, write, and execute manual test cases based on requirements and user stories.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end automated test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
• Create and maintain robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing across different environments.
• Analyze and report test results, and document defects clearly using Jira or similar tools.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and developers to understand features and technical implementation.
• Identify, record, and track bugs; perform thorough root-cause analysis.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests and ensuring test coverage.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manual web application testing.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience writing test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
• Solid knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and using tools like Postman.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A minimum of a B.S. in engineering or science is desired.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in conveying complex ideas using tools such as technical diagrams, graphs, and illustrations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams, including remote partnerships with development teams across continents.

Nice to Have

• Candidates holding one or more relevant certifications will be given preference.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a B.S. in engineering or science
• Preferred fields include computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, industrial engineering (with a focus on system design and analysis), applied mathematics, or applied physics
• While certifications are not mandatory, candidates holding relevant certifications will be preferred.
