About the Role

The Solutions Consultant is the evolution of the traditional Sales Engineering role, aligning how we best serve our customers in understanding their environment, providing solution guidance, and ensuring value realization in their investment with Palo Alto Networks. They provide technical leadership and expertise in the customer's security transformation journey, defining technical solutions that secure key business imperatives, and evangelizing industry leadership across on-prem, cloud, and security operations services. The role involves building customer relationships, demonstrating solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of cybersecurity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement strategic, technical account plans that target cross-platform solutions to meet and exceed sales quotas.
  • Understand key customer business requirements and create high-level designs across the Palo Alto Networks portfolio solutions to generate business value.
  • Drive customer adoption of Palo Alto Networks Platform by helping customers achieve increased productivity, operational efficiency, security efficacy, and flexibility.
  • Conduct discovery to understand and articulate the technical, operational, and commercial imperatives of prospects and customers.
  • Work closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure customer implementation and adoption of solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills through effective presentations, customer-specific demos, and technical engagements or workshops.
  • Lead technical validation efforts based on best practices to ensure technical wins in opportunities.
  • Promote end-to-end solutions including PANW and partner professional services to realize business value sooner.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and differentiate Palo Alto Networks' leadership in cybersecurity.
  • Identify technical stakeholders and build relationships to develop a security architecture transformation roadmap.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in pre-sales or sales engineering roles.
  • Skilled in at least one of the following: Networking, Network Security, Cybersecurity, Private/Public Cloud Security, SOC/Endpoint, or SASE.
  • Experience in delivering cybersecurity solutions that address technical challenges and influence business initiatives.
  • Ability to influence and gain buy-in from key stakeholders, either in customer-facing or internal roles.
  • Experience creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or validation engagements.
  • Experience selling, designing, implementing, or managing solutions such as Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP, or SOC Transformation Technologies.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel as required for in-person customer meetings.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in complex sales involving long sales cycles with multiple buying centers and multi-product solutions.
  • Experience partnering with Customer Support to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
