About the Role

The Extreme Solution Architect position is a key role within the company's organizational structure that supports overall SaaS adoption by transforming technical aspects of SaaS solutions into clear business outcomes and value for stakeholders including employees, channel partners, and customers. The role involves driving change both internally and externally, supporting SaaS product offerings, providing technical consulting, and working closely with sales, product, and marketing teams to define go-to-market strategies. Key Responsibilities

  • Support overall SaaS adoption by transforming technical aspects of SaaS solutions into clear business outcomes and value.
  • Provide technology and product consulting, technical sales support, and high-level technical presentations.
  • Work closely with local sales teams, product organization, and marketing teams to define go-to-market strategies for SaaS products and solutions.
  • Support sales teams with RFI/RFP responses, organize and lead Proof of Concept activities and demonstrations.
  • Design complex solutions that meet a wide set of end-user requirements.
  • Own and evangelize SaaS technologies from the sales engineering perspective both internally and externally.
  • Support customer evaluations, demonstrations, and detailed design requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong, successful pre-sales engineering track record in the industry and territory.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking technologies including Layer 2/3 switching, IPv4/v6 routing, overlay networking, VPNs, Wi-Fi operation, and network security principles.
  • Ability to work as part of multiple project teams on design and PoC labs, setting criteria for successful PoCs, and overall solution designs.
  • Ability to build, develop, and maintain a network of trusted contacts at customer and partner sides.
  • Experience in closing deals and major account management.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of future market trends and directions.
  • Ability to support customer evaluations, demonstrations, and detailed design requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge and practical experience in SaaS business and delivery models.
  • Experience with Managed Services Provider business models.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, cloud-based network management platforms, compute and network virtualization, network management and orchestration.
  • Experience with SP/WAN technologies, SD-WAN, network- and cloud-security technologies, AI/ML fundamentals, automation with scripting and APIs.
  • Extreme Networks certifications or recognized industry certifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pre-sales engineering within the networking industry.
  • Proven success in closing deals and managing major accounts.
