About the Role

The Solutions Engineer role at Evolv involves developing, piloting, and launching security products across various vertical markets such as schools, hospitals, stadiums, amusement parks, and casinos. The position serves as a key interface between customers and the sales team, ensuring customer understanding of products and gathering feedback to support product development. The role is part of the Technical Sales and Solutions team, supporting the East Sales Region, and requires extensive travel near New York, NY. Key Responsibilities

  • Support and help close top-tier opportunities in the East Region by leading technical sales processes and guiding potential customers through product capabilities.
  • Conduct site surveys and develop concept of operations plans for system deployments.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise by troubleshooting issues, explaining system capabilities, and addressing integration requirements.
  • Train customers' security staff on product operation and staffing.
  • Lead proofs of concept, demos, and pilots across various verticals including sports & entertainment, healthcare, and education.
  • Coordinate logistics, create timelines, and lead strategic deployments of Evolv Express systems.
  • Participate in team meetings, support regional sales efforts, and engage with cross-functional teams including customer success managers and product managers.
  • Travel extensively (over 70%) to customer sites, events, and installations, including some nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel extensively, typically 3-5 days per week, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and position proprietary equipment safely, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Graduate from technical training within 45 days of start date and troubleshoot 75% of technical issues within 3 months.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex technical details and system capabilities.
  • Experience in conducting site surveys, developing operational plans, and leading technical deployments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, engineering, and customer teams.
  • Comfort with working in dynamic environments and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with security systems, technical sales, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of operational environments such as performing arts centers, casinos, tourist attractions, K-12 schools, healthcare, and sports venues.
  • Experience with project management and coordinating logistics for deployments.
