About the Role

The Sponsorship Strategy role at Octagon involves developing and executing investment recommendations for clients within the sports and entertainment industry. The position offers flexibility in location, including options for remote work, and is a fixed-term contract from December 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the effectiveness of current sponsorship partnerships and develop criteria to select new partners.
  • Measure the impact of partnerships and create innovative ways to bring sponsorships to market.
  • Collect data on competitors and the market, and present relevant insights as actionable strategies for brands or properties.
  • Deeply understand clients' business and marketing needs to deliver confident, data-driven recommendations.
  • Contribute to multiple client initiatives involving data-driven sponsorship and marketing recommendations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in sports sponsorship, with previous agency experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the sports marketing landscape.
  • Experience with brand positioning, audience research, insight development, campaign platform and message development, digital and channel strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Experience constructing comprehensive measurement programs and primary research experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Comfort with managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience directing and mentoring team members.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with data visualization experience.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically (low travel level: 0-15%) and work weekends or holidays as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Previous agency experience in sports sponsorship.
  • Primary research experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sports sponsorship (5+ years).

Benefits & Perks

  • This is a fixed-term contract position with hourly pay ranging from $33.65 to $40.87.
  • Note: Contract positions are not benefits-eligible.
