About the Role

Senior Key Account Manager, Oil & Gas Are you an ambitious professional with a passion for driving business growth and building lasting customer relationships? Do you have the expertise to navigate diverse markets and the aim to excel within the Hempel Group? As a Key Account Manager, you'll join a dynamic team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to rapidly growing our market presence and encouraging customer dedication. As an Oil & Gas Key Account Manager, you will provide revenue growth with existing & new customers in the oil and gas market. This role involves developing relationships with key decision makers, working knowledge of liquid coating applications, and collaborating with R&D to understand product chemistry. The position offers opportunities to influence the company's future and expand market impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with existing assigned accounts.
  • Spearhead business development of O&G projects in North America.
  • Follow-up of projects through the order phase.
  • Include Hempel in the corporate specs of major clients within the US & CA.
  • Prospect new accounts and develop relationships with key decision makers.
  • Focus on O&G refineries, petrochemical plants, and tank terminals.
  • Understand and become familiar with Hempel products, focusing on technical coatings including Linings, CUI/High Heat, Insulating, H-PFP, and other technologies.
  • Utilize CRM to manage and grow accounts.
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales activities.
  • Attend industry-related conferences to generate leads and create brand image.
  • Prepare price quotes.
  • Work closely with R&D and Customer Service.
  • Understand the order system, how to place and track an order.
  • Make decisions on time spent with customers and prospects to maximize sales and profits.
  • Manage expenses and customer entertainment.
  • Recommend products for specific applications based on customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7-10 years minimum coatings application experience selling into facilities, EPCs.
  • Knowledge of specifications.
  • Selling, relationship building, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems.
  • Excellent writing, oral presentation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel overnight approximately 50%.
  • Target objectives for new account growth and inventory management based on customer needs.
  • Lead analysis and follow-up.
  • Manage customer complaint process.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the energy industry, specifically oil & gas markets.
  • Technical knowledge of liquid coating applications and related technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
