About the Role

The Sr. Director, Mitral & Tricuspid Downstream Marketing at Medtronic is responsible for launching new therapies, creating and managing billion-dollar brands, building new markets, and leading a global downstream marketing team. This role reports to the General Manager of transcatheter mitral & tricuspid therapies and involves collaborating with global commercial teams to develop and execute strategic plans. The position emphasizes innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and fostering a culture of professional growth, with a minimum of 4 days onsite work per week to support a connected and compassionate work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define brand strategies for Medtronic's mitral and tricuspid therapies to establish a clear and sustainable market position.
  • Lead the global launch of transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve systems.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing downstream marketing team.
  • Develop and execute annual global product marketing plans in collaboration with upstream marketing and commercial leadership.
  • Represent marketing on new product development core teams.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with key opinion leaders, industry luminaries, and partners to support therapy and product acceptance.
  • Work across stakeholders including healthcare professionals, senior leadership, market development, medical education, and regulatory teams to execute responsibilities.
  • Travel up to 40%, including international travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of combined experience or 13+ years with an advanced degree in marketing, sales, or related areas.
  • 5+ years of relevant commercial experience, preferably with both upstream and downstream medical device marketing.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with launching novel medical devices and building new therapies.
  • Knowledge of structural heart disease states and therapies or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience in project management and managing multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Proven ability to navigate and collaborate within a global matrix organization.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.

  • Master's degree or MBA in Business, Marketing, or related field.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Significant experience in launching medical devices and building therapies.
  • Experience creating brands and brand strategies.
