About the Role

The Senior Insights Manager, Marketing + Brand, is a key member of the Enterprise Insights team at Target. The role involves building enterprise-wide empathy and understanding of consumers based on demographics, behaviors, needs, and attitudes. The position supports the development of consumer-centric strategies and activations, helping partners interpret data and insights to inform business decisions. The role operates in a hybrid/flex work arrangement, combining onsite and virtual work at Target's headquarters in Minnesota.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute guest or consumer research to support key initiatives.
  • Be the primary contact for internal partners, identifying appropriate research methods, data sources, and vendors.
  • Build enterprise-wide understanding of consumers through demographic, behavioral, and attitudinal data.
  • Craft compelling narratives around data and insights to make them accessible and persuasive to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Evaluate potential risks based on data-driven insights and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Identify underlying causes of business problems through data and research rather than surface-level symptoms.
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of consumer insights, market research, or related experience.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives around data and insights for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools.
  • Ability to evaluate data irregularities and diagnose underlying causes of business problems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and external vendors.
  • Ability to identify risks and develop strategies based on data insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to make data accessible and persuasive.
