About the Role

The Senior Product Manager of Stores Order Management at Five Below will be crucial in advancing retail operations by collaborating with stakeholders to create a strategic vision and leading a scrum team to bring this vision to life. This individual will be instrumental in enhancing the customer experience and store efficiency by employing technological solutions focused on order management operations within the store, aiming to simplify crewmember experience through technology. Key Responsibilities

  • Determines requirements that support effective business processes, through improvements in technology or data practices, managing scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity.
  • Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge, and enables effective prioritization of requirements.
  • Maintains a register of business requests, prioritizes product requirements, develops product roadmaps, and owns the product backlog.
  • Monitors the external environment and assesses emerging technologies, contributing to creating a systems capability strategy aligned with the business function's strategic requirements.
  • Manages the product life cycle to meet user needs as defined by supply chain leadership.
  • Analyzes market and user research, feedback, expert opinion, and usage data to understand needs and opportunities.
  • Facilitates adoption of products by developing content, supporting and evaluating training, and monitoring product performance.
  • Manages user acceptance testing, pilots, and product launches.
  • Identifies stakeholder roles, designs and facilitates meetings or workshops to identify technical capabilities and business processes for complex problems.
  • Plans user research activities, facilitates stakeholder input, and develops user stories and experience requirements.
  • Identifies and describes design goals, translates concepts into prototypes, captures user feedback, and evaluates design options.
  • Develops and enhances customer and stakeholder relationships, manages conflict resolution, and collects feedback.
  • Provides guidance to financial analysts on costs, develops investment appraisals, and monitors project costs, times, quality, and resources.
  • Develops acceptance criteria related to functional and non-functional requirements, business processes, features, user stories, and business rules.
  • Provides training to IT operations resources and acts as an escalation point for business-impacting incidents.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership on an Agile team, preferably in a large retail company.
  • Experience using roadmap and agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Aha).
  • Active knowledge in Order Management (Ship From Store, Buy Online Pick Up in Store, Order Routing Logic).
  • Experience with consumer fulfillment systems (parcel shipping, carriers, same-day delivery, third-party delivery).
  • Experience with Order Management Systems (e.g., Manhattan, Sterling).
  • Experience with retail communication tools (Zipline).
  • Experience with reporting applications (Microstrategy, Power BI, Cognos).
  • Experience with mobile devices, MDM, and printers (Zebra, Microsoft, Broadcom).
  • Strong ability to define product requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Background in product roadmap management and executing long-term visions.
  • Ability to understand customer needs through listening, probing, and documenting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Effective relationship-building skills with customers.
  • Dedication to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA or BS degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related area (preferred).
