About the Role

The Sr. Project Manager Marketing Operations at DLA Piper will be responsible for helping the firm's Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team drive operational excellence, collaboration, and transparency in support of the firm's strategic priorities for growth and brand enhancement. This role involves supporting MBD leaders in orchestrating and executing strategic and interdepartmental projects, serving as a critical link between strategy formulation and tangible implementation to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of MBD functions across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project management for MBD workstreams related to the design, implementation, and launch of the firm's Next-Gen CRM system, including managing complex requirements and multiple workstreams.
  • Play a pivotal role in facilitating the MBD team's realignment in support of firm strategy by ensuring a smooth, efficient, and well-coordinated process, including developing detailed plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure transparent communication and collaboration with team leaders, creating proper documentation of roles and responsibilities to support team success.
  • Assist in priority MBD AI optimization projects from planning through execution, tracking project progress, and measuring impact on team performance.
  • Facilitate ongoing operational change and improvement projects to streamline processes, reduce redundancies, and align efforts across people, process, and technology.
  • Leverage foundational project management skills such as defining scope and objectives, developing detailed plans, coordinating resources, and setting milestones and success metrics.
  • Maintain and improve the MBD team's knowledge management resources, including shared libraries and core information repositories.
  • Assist with the budgeting process, including strategic planning and managing departmental budget needs throughout the year.
  • Support project management related to content development and strategy for firm conferences and events.
  • Manage other key projects and resources, including defining system requirements, stakeholder communication, ROI analysis, change management, and project documentation.

Requirements

  • Excellent project management skills, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment, with a focus on marketing and business development tools, technologies, and applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strategic thinking, sound professional judgment, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze options, and implement solutions.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to analyze and synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Confidence in managing projects, juggling priorities, and driving cross-functional initiatives to completion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot, AI, and familiarity with CRM systems or pipeline tracking tools.
  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, ideally in a professional services environment with Marketing and Business Development experience.

  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
