About the Role

The Sr. Technical Product Marketing Manager I at IBM is responsible for creating content that helps customers understand how HashiCorp products solve their problems. This role involves collaborating with engineering, product management, developer relations, and sales teams to develop technical materials, advocate for products, enable sales, and perform competitive analysis. The position supports product launches and integrates partner ecosystem insights into content strategies, all within the context of IBM's broader cloud and AI platform initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create content that helps customers learn what problems HashiCorp products solve and how they can help, ensuring content is easily consumable, simple, accurate, and polished.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, product management, developer relations, and technical sales teams to deliver slide decks, tutorials, demos, videos, and white papers aligned with go-to-market initiatives.
  • Advocate for HashiCorp products by evangelizing within practitioner and enterprise communities, working with industry influencers, decision makers, and developer relations teams.
  • Enable sales teams by showcasing content during training sessions, gathering feedback, and developing plans to improve existing content and create new materials.
  • Develop technical content to support product launches, ensuring updates align with product release announcements.
  • Perform competitive analysis to understand key competitors and incorporate differentiated value into content and sales materials.
  • Collaborate with partners to understand product integrations within the ecosystem and incorporate this into content strategies.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of technical product marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a technical or field-facing role related to cloud, infrastructure, or IT operations.
  • Industry expertise in areas such as cloud, dynamic IT infrastructure, private cloud, HashiCorp Terraform, Red Hat Ansible, infrastructure as code, configuration management, or DevOps workflows.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and evaluate feature parity.
  • Strong technical writing skills for external audiences, including white papers, briefs, and test reports.
  • Proficiency with Keynote, PowerPoint, or Google Slides.
  • Experience with demo recording software such as Camtasia, Loom, or Zoom.
  • Comfortable presenting and demoing products to internal and external audiences of various sizes.
  • Some travel required for customer interactions and industry events.
  • Deep customer focus and ability to build resonant materials.
  • Excellent project management skills from idea to execution.

Nice to Have

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (required).
  • 5-7 years of technical product marketing experience.
  • At least 3 years in a technical or field-facing role related to cloud, infrastructure, or IT operations.
