About the Role

Samsara is seeking a Staff Product Marketing Manager to own the strategic narrative for our data, automation, and AI products and build productive relationships with our customer's CIOs. This role involves serving as the go-to expert on how our most senior customers think, what they care about, and how Samsara can help them lead digital transformation within complex physical operations. The position requires someone who is both technical and a masterful storyteller, capable of synthesizing customer needs into a cohesive marketing strategy. The role involves collaboration across teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Events, to drive long-term product and brand strategy with a focus on the CIO audience. It is a remote position open to candidates based in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Samsara's overall narrative for our data, automation, and AI offerings by developing and evolving the story told to CIOs across industries, ensuring it reflects strategic direction and resonates with their priorities.
  • Build deep, trust-based relationships with CIOs, especially within the Customer Advisory Board, and understand how they evaluate technology decisions, serving as a resource to the executive team and sales leaders.
  • Support sales at the highest level by joining CIO-level sales conversations as a strategic partner, answering technical and strategic questions, and articulating the company's value proposition.
  • Drive content and event strategy by partnering with the VP of Product to develop experiences for CIOs and developers at flagship events, shaping breakout sessions and executive experiences, and executing across teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Sales Engineering to ensure messaging aligns with the product roadmap, is technically sound, and supports field enablement.
  • Lead strategic workstreams by owning and executing high-impact projects such as platform positioning, API strategy, developer engagement, and competitive differentiation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Product Marketing, Solutions Engineering, or Developer Marketing roles, ideally in a deeply technical product or platform environment.
  • Proven experience engaging executive buyers, particularly CIOs or other technical decision-makers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into strategic narratives.
  • Experience owning cross-functional workstreams and driving them to completion.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, Engineering, or similar); an advanced degree is a plus.
