About the Role

Join Times Union Media Group and Hearst Newspapers, a Division of Hearst, to help deliver impactful media campaigns for our customers, leveraging our rich history, extensive audience reach, and best-in-class advertising solutions. The role involves maximizing digital and print sales revenue by selling strategic advertising solutions to current and new advertisers, managing a full sales cycle, and supporting clients through various media channels. Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle by calling on local medium to large-sized businesses to demonstrate the value of our digital media advertising products, including social media, digital display, video, SEO/SEM, and traditional advertisements.
  • Manage an assigned account list of existing and prospective clients, network to develop new business, and work with clients on a year-round basis to upsell additional products.
  • Become an expert on our digital and print products/services through initial training and ongoing support, continually growing your knowledge and success as a Strategic Account Executive.
  • Implement sales tactics by executing marketing strategies, delivering effective sales presentations, and creating engaging advertising solutions to meet clients' business needs.
  • Recommend new products and promotional opportunities to current clients, handle objections efficiently, and boost clients' businesses through multiple digital media channels.
  • Manage client pipeline and forecast monthly revenue using Salesforce.com.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of business-to-business outside sales experience in advertising or media, with proven success in new business acquisition and exceeding revenue goals.
  • BA/BS degree in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Superior presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Technically savvy with experience in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Goal-oriented, competitive, and forward-thinking with strong business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to react and adjust to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas.
  • Self-assured, driven, and capable of delivering high-quality, organized, and repeatable results.
  • Informed of industry developments to ensure digital advertising strategies remain effective.

  • Knowledge of local business community and digital marketing trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications (or equivalent experience).
