About the Role

The Strategic Customer Segment Leader for Small Molecule Pharma at Waters Corporation is responsible for leading and influencing cross-functional teams to define and execute strategic marketing initiatives within the pharmaceutical segment. The role involves driving customer insights, developing tailored messaging, spearheading marketing campaigns, enabling sales strategies, and maintaining competitive and key opinion leader relationships to ensure targeted, effective efforts that align with Water's global strategy and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence senior members of cross-functional teams to define short and long-term strategies for the segment, aligning product and regional priorities into a single global strategy.
  • Drive comprehensive market research and customer analysis to uncover deep insights into segment-specific needs, preferences, and buying behaviors, and provide actionable feedback to product teams.
  • Partner with content and product marketing teams to craft and refine segment-specific messaging, value propositions, and content that resonate with customer expectations.
  • Design and execute targeted marketing campaigns aimed at driving engagement, lead generation, funnel optimization, and conversions, adapting tactics to the most effective sales and marketing channels.
  • Work closely with sales and field marketing teams to roll out segment-specific strategies, define sales activity plans, and ensure teams are equipped with necessary tools and resources.
  • Collaborate extensively with sales, product, and service teams to ensure alignment between marketing strategies and overall business objectives, integrating customer insights into initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives using data analytics, providing detailed performance reports to senior leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Guide the development of customer journey maps for each key segment, identifying critical touchpoints and creating strategies to lead prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze competitive activity within the Pharma segment to identify differentiation opportunities and refine strategies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KoLs) and influential industry figures to influence market perception, drive brand credibility, and enhance visibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic marketing, with a focus on customer segmentation and market strategy.
  • 5-10 years of experience supporting or within the Small Molecule Pharma segment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and executing strategic marketing initiatives within complex market segments.
  • Deep expertise in data-driven marketing, customer insights, and performance analytics.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive results in collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • MBA or advanced degree in related field.

Qualifications

Benefits & Perks

  • General base pay ranges from $138,000/year to $179,000/year, based on market location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
