About the Role

The Student Employee- Strategic Enrollment and Innovation- Cloud Application Support Student Worker role offers hands-on experience in cloud security practices and maintaining secure access to cloud-based systems supporting the university's operations. The position involves collaborating with IT professionals, contributing to security and documentation efforts, and gaining practical knowledge in cloud technologies within the Division of Enrollment at Sam Houston State University.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in updating legacy passwords across multiple systems in accordance with security policies.
Create and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation for managing permissions, adding/removing users, and updating roles on systems not fully managed by central IT.
Complete required security training modules to build foundational knowledge in cybersecurity best practices.
Collaborate with system owners to understand their cloud environments and document system usage, configurations, and security practices.
Contribute to the implementation of security controls and assist in compliance efforts for cloud-hosted applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable student with strong communication and analytical skills.
Ability to assist with password management, documentation development, and security training.
Interest in cloud technologies and security practices.
Availability to work 20-28 hours per week.
Open to students enrolled in relevant programs or classifications.
