Student Employment - Communication & Social Media Intern

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the Communication and Donor Relations team to develop a plan and calendar to increase marketing and news related content on all media channels
• Develop alumni and donor stories in creative ways using video, blogs, and short clips
• Promote the Division, our donors, and alumni on social media platforms and in newsletters
• Analyze traditional and social media data to ensure the Division is continuing to surpass expectations
• Develop Pirate Nation Gives promotional materials directed specifically at students
• Serve as on-air talent for Division social media and donor stewardship video projects
• Attend Division events to ensure proper in-person and digital stewardship of university donors
• Capture events for future traditional and social media activities
• Conduct research on new marketing trends and mediums
• Solicit feedback through on-site informal interviews and social listening
• Receive feedback/constructive criticism from supervisor(s) and use this towards continued individual growth

Requirements

• Candidate must be a student currently enrolled at ECU
• Possess and maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA
• Be in good disciplinary and academic standing with ECU
• Able to work a flexible schedule up to 15-20 hours per week with occasional night and weekend events
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with key social media platforms
• Strong work ethic
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in short-form video storytelling utilizing tools like Capcut

Qualifications

• Current enrollment at ECU
• Minimum GPA of 2.5
