About the Role

Itron is innovating new ways for utilities and cities to manage energy and water. We create a more resourceful world to protect essential resources for today and tomorrow. The Systems Test Engineer will be working within the R&D department's Meter Farm team, focusing on RF mesh network stability and performance testing for electric, water, and gas meters in a large-scale environment located outdoors in West Union, SC. The role involves debugging software products, developing and executing test plans, analyzing test results, and collaborating with development engineers to ensure product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the development of test plans, test designs, test objectives, and test cases.
Identify, analyze and document defects, questionable behavior, errors and inconsistencies with the AMI solution.
Work with development engineers in product design, code reviews, walkthroughs and product lifecycle inspections.
Investigate problems of the test environment and bring to resolution.
Respond to inquiries from development or other internal groups about the behavior of the AMI solution.
Execute tests on the large scale network test environments and report test results with analysis.

Requirements

1+ years of experience as a System Tests Engineer or relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Ability to work outdoors occasionally in all types of weather.
Comfort working in a typical office environment.

Nice to Have

IPv6 knowledge and experience.
Networking knowledge and experience (VPN).
SQL and Oracle database knowledge and experience.
Experience with C/C# and Linux.
Experience with Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
