About the Role

Square is seeking a Territory Account Executive to join our newly established field sales organization in Boston. The role involves engaging with local sellers, demonstrating Square's mission of economic empowerment, and providing a local presence to build brand awareness and drive sales within the community. This position focuses on working with restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses in high-potential markets, combining in-person selling, community engagement, and strategic partnerships to grow Square's footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell into your market in-person, conducting face-to-face sales to source leads, perform discovery and demos, and close deals selling Square's ecosystem.
  • Get to know active Square Sellers within your community, monitor their account health, collaborate with account management and customer support, and generate referrals.
  • Engage and partner with onboarding teams to ensure successful implementation of Sellers.
  • Build a sustainable top-of-funnel pipeline through tactics such as walking the city, performing 50-60 drop-ins weekly, creating referral channels with active sellers, and establishing local partnerships.
  • Develop hands-on skills in demoing and onboarding Square hardware and software solutions.
  • Work with channel sales to identify and build referral partnerships within your market.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the business and technology needs of primary vertical markets (restaurants, retail, services).
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals and KPIs, utilizing Salesforce to track activities, pipeline, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience in a full cycle closing role, ideally with field sales experience.
  • 2+ years of payment processing or related technology experience (e.g., payroll, loyalty, time management).
  • 1+ years of experience working with or selling to restaurants, retailers, or service-based businesses.
  • Experience exceeding sales targets, selling a diverse ecosystem of products, and closing complex deals.
  • Ability to independently drive deals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Business development experience, including hunting and cold calling.
  • Reliable transportation and residence in the market being served.
  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience.
  • Collaborative team player mentality.
  • Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with restaurant, retail, or services operations is preferred.
