About the Role

The Territory Account Manager at Mizuho OSI is responsible for generating and closing sales of medical device products and services within a defined geographic area, supporting hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physicians. The role involves developing professional relationships, educating customers, and supporting sales across all product lines to meet sales quotas, with an emphasis on specialty surgical tables and patient care products. Mizuho OSI is a leader in specialty surgery and patient positioning, focusing on improving patient outcomes in spine and orthopedic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain market knowledge and maintain awareness of procedures, new technologies, and techniques to develop sales approach.
  • Maintain awareness, compile, and communicate competitive information on equipment and devices preferred by the marketplace.
  • Develop professional relationships within the healthcare community in assigned territory with physicians, hospital management, procurement and clinical personnel.
  • Evaluate customer's needs and emphasize salable product features, using technical knowledge of capabilities and limitations of current product offering.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities, maintaining a three (3) year funnel visible in Salesforce.com, or the applicable technology.
  • Document precisely what future sales orders will occur.
  • Negotiate terms of sale including pricing, warranty and special features with administrative and multi-specialty clinical personnel.
  • Educate and train customers on Mizuho OSI products.
  • Provide pre and post-sale product demonstrations, customer product in-services and clinical support.
  • Attend surgical cases to support staff in the use of Mizuho OSI products and equipment as necessary.
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and procedures.
  • Advise customers of equipment for a given need based on technical knowledge of the market procedures and products.
  • Utilize the “Trust Triangle” and sales tools throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain sales activity reports and update CRM system daily.
  • Represent Mizuho OSI products at tradeshows and courses when requested.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with partner roles within the Company.
  • Provide Sales coverage for vacant territories when requested.
  • Provide training and pass along skills to other Account Managers and department members.
  • Uncrate and set up capital equipment at customer facilities.
  • Maintain company issued cell phone and portable computer for business use.
  • Participate in the company provided vehicle program.
  • Complete and submit expense reports timely.
  • Analyze problems and formulate plans to overcome challenges, ensuring high-quality work and decision-making.
  • Support and follow Mizuho OSI's business objectives, vision, mission, and values.
  • Follow internal Quality System policies and external regulations.
  • Senior Account Manager additional responsibilities include coaching new hires, facilitating training, participating in interview processes, acting as Interim Region Manager, and other leadership tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field.
  • Three to five years of selling experience in the medical marketplace, device/capital equipment preferred.
  • Excellent customer focus with a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective verbal and written English communication.
  • Neat and professional appearance with outgoing personality.
  • Excellent computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
  • Ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prepare business letters, memorandums, and reports.
  • Strong presentation, project, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make formal and informal product presentations to individuals and groups including physicians and hospital staff.
  • Basic arithmetic, report creation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to respond sensitively to others and maintain rapport across organizational levels.
  • Effective time management and goal-setting skills.
  • Ability to operate in an operating room environment and attend surgical procedures.
  • Must live within 20 miles of the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to qualify for company auto insurance.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50-75%) within the U.S. and Canada, and cover travel expenses.

Nice to Have

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
  • Additional languages besides English.
  • Knowledge of the Trust Triangle sales process.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field.
  • Three to five years of medical sales experience, preferably in device/capital equipment.

Benefits & Perks

  • Full-time position with salary range of $75,000 - $150,000 per year.
  • Work schedule of 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • On the road work location with travel opportunities.
