About the Role

The TheraSphere Consultant position at Boston Scientific requires someone with strong clinical aptitude to develop new accounts and expand usage of company products within a defined territory, including Delaware, Maryland, DC, and Virginia. The role involves selling and promoting interventional oncology products used to diagnose and treat cancer through minimally invasive solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Sells products by scheduling sales calls to meet with current and potential customers to fulfill revenue and unit growth objectives assigned by company on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies by determining relevant factors such as product, competition, and pricing needs of existing and potential accounts to promote the company's products to hospital personnel and physicians.
  • Develops action plans (weekly, quarterly, monthly) by analyzing sales figures and reports, identifying account needs, and discussing issues with Regional Sales Manager to achieve sales goals.
  • Determines the needs (product and pricing), goals, product usage, and case types of specific customers by engaging with physicians and hospital staff to identify suitable BSC products.
  • Observes procedures in hospital labs and operating rooms to gain insights into physician and staff nuances.
  • Establishes pricing packages by collaborating with relevant BSC personnel to meet customer needs while adhering to company policies.
  • Responds to customer needs and complaints regarding products and services by developing solutions or coordinating with clinical research, marketing, or other teams.
  • Develops relationships with hospital personnel through meetings, conferences, and casual conversations to identify key decision makers and facilitate future sales.
  • Manages clinical procedures throughout cases and across different territories.
  • Educates customers on product usage and benefits through presentations and demonstrations, often utilizing incentive programs to secure purchasing commitments.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of sales and education experience.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in medical device sales.
  • Strong clinical, analytical, and selling skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a large number of accounts.
  • A four-year degree with a background in sales and success in radiology lab and physician sales is preferred.

  • Proven track record of success in sales.
  • Experience with radiology lab and interventional oncology products.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in sales or related field preferred.
  • Relevant licensure and certifications as applicable.

Benefits & Perks

  • Anticipated annualized base salary range of $90,000 to $135,000.
  • Variable compensation governed by the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan, including non-discretionary incentives based on objectives.
