About the Role

Join the Marketing team as a TikTok intern at the Peabody Essex Museum. As a contributor to our marketing team, you'll work directly with our Social Media Manager to brainstorm, create, and produce content specifically for PEM's TikTok channel that highlight the museum and its collections, exhibitions, and programming. This internship offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about art, culture, and social media to develop engaging and creative TikTok videos in a museum setting.

Key Responsibilities

Work directly with the Social Media Manager to brainstorm, create, and produce TikTok content for PEM's channel.
Highlight the museum, its collections, exhibitions, and programming through engaging TikTok videos.
Participate in professional development sessions and contribute to content creation during the internship period.

Requirements

A portfolio of TikTok videos showcasing creativity, storytelling, and production skills.
A passion for art and culture, and a desire to share it with a broad audience on social media.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with museum staff and visitors.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently as well as creatively collaborate with team members.
Ability to work in-person for video content capture.

Nice to Have

Experience in social media content creation and video production.
Familiarity with museum environments or cultural institutions.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a program related to art, media, or a related field (implied by the portfolio requirement).
Ability to work in-person for video content capture.

Onsite internship with approximately 15 hours per week over twelve weeks.
Mandatory in-person orientation and participation in sessions, some of which may be hybrid.
