About the Role

The Vice President of Brand and Strategic Marketing at NBCU Local Philadelphia is responsible for leading a promotional staff and managing the planning, production, and scheduling of multi-platform promotions with a strategic emphasis on local news coverage. The role involves creating promotional campaigns focused on local news, weather, sports, and regional events, utilizing multiple owned platforms to cross-promote products, and collaborating with various departments to achieve strategic goals. The position is based in Philadelphia and requires a flexible schedule, including travel and overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and development for the promotional team including producers, editors, and graphic artists.
  • Create station promotional campaigns with strong emphasis on local news, weather, and sports, including regional sports and NFL preseason partnerships.
  • Build action plans based on station research to achieve strategic goals and grow the customer base.
  • Analyze data in collaboration with Content Analytics teams to track the performance of key content and marketing campaigns.
  • Produce and schedule multi-platform and on-air promotion campaign spots, including breaking news, brand, public service announcements, and program promos.
  • Partner with Sales Marketing to manage all production and marketing needs for the sales department and clients.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with department heads across News, Sales, Digital, Operations, and related departments.
  • Qualify and manage external brand partners for media buying across radio, outdoor, and digital/social channels.
  • Develop processes for production, budgeting, and financial controls for all projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a local television station environment.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a creative marketing/production function.
  • Proven ability to run digital, television, and social media campaigns.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and short-notice shifts.
  • Willingness to work in Philadelphia, PA, and surrounding areas.
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to Have

  • Significant background developing multi-platform promotional campaigns (on-air, online, mobile, digital, etc.).
  • Experience working at a Spanish-speaking news organization.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.
