About the Role

The Vice President, Franchise Marketing at Exelixis, Inc. reports to the Senior Vice President, Marketing, and leads the Franchise Marketing Team for CABOMETYX. The role is responsible for digital, omnichannel, marketing-driven artificial intelligence (AI) exploration, access, patient and advanced practitioner marketing, brand strategic and tactical planning, conference planning oversight, marketing communications and operations, and quarterly business reviews. The position involves managing cross-functional teams and ensuring strategic alignment and operational effectiveness within the brand's marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages direct reports who oversee Digital, Omnichannel, AI, Access, Patient/APP, Strategic Accounts, Franchise Strategy and Operations, and Conference Planning teams.
  • Responsible for developing and executing a 3-year strategic brand plan and annual tactical plans.
  • Oversees the brand's digital marketing strategic plan and tactical execution across various audiences.
  • Oversees, through direct reports, the omnichannel and AI marketing strategy, operational effectiveness, and tactical coordination.
  • Oversees annual conference planning and coordination with marketing and sales partners.
  • Ensures alignment of strategic plans for patient marketing, advanced practitioner, and access marketing with the overall brand strategy.
  • Communicates and ensures organizational alignment to the brand strategic plan.
  • Provides financial oversight, manages budgets, and conducts ROI analysis.
  • Conducts market assessments and collaborates with Commercial Strategy Analytics & Operations to optimize market research and impact analyses.
  • Engages with key customers and accounts to understand business dynamics and optimize channel decisions.
  • Coordinates quarterly business review planning and process.
  • Leads operational functions including contract processing, talent review, strategic evaluation, and marketing team communications.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in a related discipline with at least 21 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 19 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Pharmaceutical marketing and/or strategic consulting experience.
  • Leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Experience in sales, sales management, and managed care is strongly preferred.
  • Oncology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Multi-channel or Omnichannel experience.
  • Ability to develop strategic concepts and communicate them effectively to teams.
  • Cross-functional leadership skills and consensus-building ability.
  • High learning agility and comprehensive understanding of marketplace factors affecting brand performance.
  • Effective presentation and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations related to pharmaceutical drug promotion and experience with legal, medical, and regulatory review processes.
  • Understanding of reimbursement mechanisms, managed care environment, and access-related programs.
  • Project management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI and digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, especially oncology.

Qualifications

  • Educational background as specified in requirements (BS/BA or Master's degree).
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical marketing, strategic consulting, or related fields.
