The role of Vice President, Marketing and Data Science involves designing, building, and delivering advanced data science and marketing science solutions within Publicis's CoreAI platform(s) to support the agency's global media engagement with Mars, Inc. This position is a key driver of technical innovation and effective delivery of analytic solutions, focusing on connected measurement, KPI forecasting, experimental design, and optimization across media investments. It combines applied marketing science, media strategy activation, and advanced modeling expertise to guide ML/AI-based solutions, integrating data, analytics, and technology to enhance marketing science functions and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with CoreAI analytic leadership and account strategists to translate Mars business/brand challenges into Marketing Science and Data Science frameworks and predictive models that can be embedded into CoreAI workflows.
  • Define the overall analytic vision and build the measurement roadmap serving as the foundation for segments, regions, and agency partners.
  • Assess current Publicis capabilities and marketing science offerings, propose and own a Capabilities Roadmap, and design customized analytic products leveraging connected data networks and advanced modeling techniques.
  • Conduct workshops and strategic discussions with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Partner with solution consultants and business strategists to translate cross-industry challenges into analytic algorithms for CoreAI workflows.
  • Lead the team building marketing science analytics solutions using machine learning/AI techniques, factorial test designs, bandits, time series forecasting, and optimization algorithms.
  • Oversee team members working on applied marketing science and machine learning techniques, managing large and complex datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Support development of AI-augmented performance reporting into BI dashboards like Tableau, Power BI, or Datorama.
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring solutions meet platform and client objectives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and presenting findings to clients.
  • Monitor and refine models to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing & media analytics within a major marketing & advertising network or similar client-side roles.
  • Proven experience in client-facing roles delivering advanced analytics.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing Science, Business, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields; Ph.D. is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of statistical modeling and predictive analytic techniques such as MMM, multi-touch attribution, DCO, customer segmentation, and media scenario planning.
  • Experience with systematic test design approaches like factorials and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Programming experience in Python, R, SQL, SAS, Dataiku, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modeling frameworks including hierarchical, network models, OLAP, predictive, and time series data modeling.
  • Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau, Datorama, or Power BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional projects.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or other machine learning frameworks.
  • Knowledge of content-level engagement & efficacy, CDP audience taxonomies, and cross-media optimization.
  • Experience working with large, unstructured datasets from various sources such as web, mobile, in-store, and chatbots.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields; Ph.D. preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing & media analytics.
