About the Role

The Video and Social Content Specialist at Cape Cod Community College serves as a key contributor in developing and executing messaging strategies across the College's digital spaces, including social media, the public website, and information portals. The role involves leveraging modern storytelling approaches, video engagement tactics, and social media technologies to showcase authentic student and campus experiences, thereby shaping the public message of the College. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a good understanding of brand positioning, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, with a hybrid schedule involving both in-person and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging video and digital content aimed at telling the story of the 4Cs experience to prospective students and strengthening student engagement on campus.
  • Work with the Strategic Communications and Marketing team to manage content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Capture modern and effective video content for social media, the College's web platforms, and other digital channels to enhance brand reputation.
  • Cover College events creatively and proactively, spotlighting students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist in developing and implementing digital and social media campaigns to support enrollment and brand awareness initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in higher education digital marketing.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Marketing and Communications team to develop content calendars and strategies for event coverage and storytelling.
  • Communicate with faculty and staff to determine storytelling, social media, and digital communication needs.
  • Work actively with other College departments to promote collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork.
  • Provide flexible, responsive, and high-quality service to students, community, and staff, continuously assessing and revising processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in managing and creating video content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social networking sites.
  • Strong understanding of modern content creation strategies and channels within social media and digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social media, videography, and/or photography work for storytelling in portfolios.
  • A passion for using modern marketing and video tactics to tell real, powerful stories.
  • Commitment to the community college mission and vision.

Nice to Have

  • Prior social and digital media content creation experience.

  • Educational background as specified in the requirements.
  • Experience or skills in social media content creation, videography, and digital marketing.
