Video, Photo & Social Media Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Capture daily elements of campus life through videos and photos.
• Attend and cover select university events.
• Organize, schedule, and conduct dedicated video and photo shoots.
• Produce videos for use online and at university events.
• Work closely with the associate director of media relations and other team members to ensure videos are aligned with the university brand and strategic goals.
• Select, edit, and format photos for use across print, web, and social media.
• Manage and organize a digital media library, ensuring assets are properly labeled and accessible.
• Coordinate the video and photo planning processes, including storyboarding and conceptualization.
• Develop, plan, and post content to Whitworth's social media channels.
• Monitor engagement on social platforms and address questions or issues promptly.
• Gather, analyze, and report on social media engagement metrics quarterly.
• Assist campus partners with university-endorsed social media accounts.
• Work with students to manage student-driven initiatives and campaigns.
• Arrange for release and liability forms, and ensure copyright law compliance.
• Participate in department events and special projects.

Requirements

• Strong technical skills in videography and photography.
• Ability to capture engaging campus life content through videos and photos.
• Experience in editing and formatting photos and videos for various mediums.
• Ability to coordinate planning and conceptualization of media content.
• Experience managing digital media libraries.
• Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Ability to monitor and analyze social media engagement metrics.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and ability to maintain work authorization.

• Knowledge of copyright law and licensing for audio and visual content.
