About the Role

CGL is a provider of justice facility planning, design, and program management and maintenance solutions to justice facilities and other public facilities throughout the U.S. and internationally. The Vice President of Business Development for Justice Services drives the business development strategy for the Justice Services division, targeting partnerships and contracts within the justice system, including law enforcement, corrections, and related agencies. This will be a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate the justice services market.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key justice system stakeholders.
  • Oversee proposal development and contract negotiations for justice-related initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities within the justice services domain.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify prospective clients through research, phone calls, networking, industry trade shows and face-to-face meetings.
  • Market to prospective clients via print advertisements, flyers, email campaigns, etc.
  • Present and sell the "team approach" method of providing consulting services to prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain relationships built on mutual trust and respect with prospective clients.
  • Gain commitments from prospective clients to work exclusively with the Company, coordinating MOU documents with the Executive Vice President.
  • Coordinate submission of RFPs and maintain accurate records of clientele and business development activity in the Company database.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the creation and maintenance of key sales enablement resources for market positioning and customer acquisition.
  • Ensure all aspects of product delivery are complete for seamless and timely customer enablement and product adoption.
  • Build and deliver specific market messaging to drive key pursuit opportunities.
  • Work with client-facing teams to ensure they are enabled for effective services and feature delivery.
  • Analyze competitive offerings and potential partnership opportunities related to the services offered.
  • Facilitate, organize, and attend business development related Company events.
  • Drive for the Company using a Company vehicle or a Personal/Rental vehicle more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred).
  • 10+ years proven experience in a Sales or Business Development role.
  • Minimum 5 years driving cross functional services, marketing, and sales go-to-market program initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, complex pursuits.
  • Experience describing and documenting project or client requirements.
  • Strong customer focus and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented with a concern for quality and continual process improvements.
  • Strong management skills including people development and team building.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently with excellent time management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, In-Design, and pursuit tracking software.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive criminal background checks.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to drive a Company or personal vehicle for work more than 50% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in justice or public sector markets.
  • Experience with proposal development and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with industry trade shows and face-to-face client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration).
  • 10+ years of proven sales or business development experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cross-functional services, marketing, and sales initiatives.
  • Experience managing large, complex pursuits.

  • Competitive and equitable compensation with a hiring range between $137,500 and $178,500.
