About the Role

Livepeer is on a mission to build the world's open video infrastructure. Founded in 2017, it is the world's first open-source protocol for decentralized video streaming, built on Ethereum. The project has empowered developers to create scalable, cost-effective, and censorship-resistant video applications. The Livepeer network has transcoded billions of minutes, serving Web3 and Web2 platforms across gaming, entertainment, social media, and beyond. In 2024, Livepeer AI was introduced, unlocking Livepeer's computer network for AI inference workflows. From real-time video transcription and object detection to scene recognition and AI-powered editing, Livepeer AI brings advanced machine learning directly into the decentralized video stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Daydream's growth strategy: define positioning, messaging, and narrative so Daydream becomes the default community for open source real-time AI video innovation.
  • Own all core growth marketing functions: brand, product marketing, content, growth, community, events, PR/comms, standing up the right capabilities at the right time, and be accountable for the success of each function.
  • Drive pre-PMF momentum: generate excitement and clear narrative before product-market fit is fully locked; source and onboard design partners; be hypothesis driven and turn early wins into repeatable playbooks for breakthrough use cases (e.g. real time visualization, live avatars, interactive broadcasts).
  • Architect and execute community-led growth for the real-time AI video ecosystem amongst key personas: builders, applied researchers, and creative technologists.
  • Be (or architect) a visible, credible presence within technical communities, showcase compelling use cases, and engage communities through mechanisms that create authentic enthusiasm and participation.
  • Coordinate with Livepeer Foundation Marketing to align on broader web3/decentralized ecosystem strategy and community engagement.
  • Balance multiple goals across community growth, developer adoption, product marketing, and early GTM traction.
  • Recruit and lead a high-performing growth team; set clear metrics, rituals, and dashboards for ecosystem health.
  • Operate as a peer-level sparring partner to technically deep founders; balance technical credibility with growth urgency.

Requirements

  • AI domain fluency — ideally in AI creative tools, AI developer platforms, or open-source AI.
  • Community builder with a track record in technical or emerging ecosystems, using strategies like creating pull-through narrative and community partnerships.
  • Early-stage leadership experience (founder, early growth, or marketing lead strongly preferred).
  • 5+ years building technical communities; 2+ years leading teams or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong network across AI/video/generative communities (models, companies, researchers, conferences).
  • Operator's mindset: experiment-driven, metrics-literate, and execution-oriented.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, unstructured settings; creates clarity for self and team; strong stakeholder management.
  • Technically credible with developers; translates research and infrastructure into clear value.
  • Strategic storyteller capable of crafting campaigns that create hype and opportunity around a theme or vision.

  • Background in decentralized/web3 ecosystems.
  • Experience with open-source community.
