About the Role

The Web Strategist will join a growth-focused team at a cutting-edge fintech organization using blockchain technology to democratize the global economy. The role involves working on international and US web projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create and optimize web experiences that support business growth and seller engagement. The Web Strategist reports to the Head of Product for Acquisition and is responsible for driving web strategy, optimization, and performance across Square's public web presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on international web projects and select US web projects to create and optimize compelling, effective, and innovative web experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Marketing, Communications, Brand, Demand Generation, Analytics, and Creative to improve web experiences.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of the Square public web experience across key stages of the seller journey.
  • Drive web strategy for Square in partnership with Growth Product and Marketing to define goals, objectives, and KPIs across all web surface areas.
  • Develop and implement web initiatives focused on business performance and conversion while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Contribute to the strategy and optimization of critical website pages and flows.
  • Implement best practices based on web tests and overall web strategy across the organization.
  • Partner with SEO to improve site performance, architecture, and content for organic search optimization.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to develop the public web product roadmap.
  • Work with Analytics and Experimentation teams on web measurement strategies and tools to inform ongoing optimization.
  • Lead customer-based research requirements using user testing and voice of the customer insights.
  • Use analytics to monitor performance, traffic patterns, and identify opportunities to improve conversion.
  • Develop requirements for web solutions and coordinate with technical teams on scope, MVPs, and trade-offs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing with an understanding of web standards and optimization.
  • Experience identifying target audiences and creating website experiences that motivate users through the funnel.
  • Expertise in optimizing and testing websites, landing pages, and user funnels for conversion rate improvements.
  • Knowledge of web analytics, goal setting, and performance measurement.
  • Working knowledge of front-end and back-end web development, including design limitations and capabilities.
  • Understanding of best practices for modern B2B websites.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SEO fundamentals and their interaction with website technology, architecture, and content.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with a content marketing team or on projects that take a content marketing approach.
  • Experience in marketing automation tools and SFDC.
  • Previous experience in B2B marketing, with a focus in SaaS.
