Job Description

About the Role

The Rotational Analyst will be actively engaging with the Enterprise Marketing Analytics team, gaining hands-on experience by working on various projects across diverse marketing channels. This rotation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the different facets of marketing analytics, allowing the analyst to develop a well-rounded skill set and valuable insights from each channel. The program is a multi-week training initiative designed to facilitate the transition from college to a full-time career at KeyBank, offering opportunities for learning, networking, mentorship, and professional development. Upon completion, analysts will enter their respective lines of business within a rotational program or full-time role, supported by ongoing mentorship and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the formulation of hypotheses, translation of data, design and measurement of experiments, and generation of insights to inform business decisions using various data mining techniques.
  • Perform basic diagnostic analyses on data to answer questions such as 'Why did it happen?' and 'What action can I take?'.
  • Handle data or analytics requests in a timely and effective manner as assigned by the manager.
  • Create reports and ad hoc analyses by pulling data and developing basic visualizations and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Identify trends and outliers by inspecting data and building visualizations.
  • Execute basic diagnostics testing, such as performance testing and assumption verification, under supervision.
  • Find patterns or anomalies in data and support the production of insights into relevant business questions.

Requirements

  • Must obtain a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2026 in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics, financial engineering, data sciences, or business analytics.
  • Understanding of data wrangling, descriptive statistics, and exploration of big data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with Python, SAS, or SQL for data analysis and database connection.
  • Knowledge of model building concepts, including data leakage, training/testing/validation sets, and basic diagnostics testing.
  • Basic statistical and measurement concepts, methods, and techniques.
  • Developing skills in business partnering, influencing, and financial/business acumen.
  • Basic communication skills, including writing and creating PowerPoint presentations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data mining techniques and analytical programming languages.
  • Familiarity with advanced modeling methods and their scope, features, benefits, and risks.
  • Ability to analyze simple issues with low complexity and provide perspectives on basic business and analytical problems.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree or graduate degree in a quantitative field by May 2026.
