About the Role

The Associate Director, Marketing Strategy plays a pivotal role within the Marketing and Communications team at Butler University, leading the development and execution of marketing strategies for both on-campus and online graduate programs and certificates. The role focuses on driving enrollment growth, increasing program and brand visibility, managing digital advertising partnerships, overseeing content and messaging strategies, and optimizing marketing assets across all mediums to enhance engagement. The position involves launching new programs, refining strategies for existing ones based on data-driven insights and SEO best practices, and supporting the university's broader marketing objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Graduate Program Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute marketing plans for new and existing programs, create impactful messaging, define audience personas, and implement targeted initiatives to maximize top-of-funnel growth, visibility, and lead generation.
  • Drive efforts to attract and engage prospective students, reaching or exceeding lead program generation targets.
  • Lead Digital Advertising Strategy: Manage agency partnerships to plan, execute, and optimize campaigns across all programs that drive engagement and inquiries.
  • Lead Website and SEO Strategy: Ensure the graduate web presence delivers a seamless user experience and content strategy, and implement advanced SEO practices to improve search rankings and conversion rates.
  • Content Creation and Asset Development: Produce marketing assets including print, digital, web, videos, and presentations; collaborate with creative teams; write and edit content for digital media, web, and print materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with graduate program teams and campus stakeholders, ensuring alignment on marketing goals and strategies.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics, provide insights, and recommend ongoing optimizations.
  • Drive the visibility and reputation of Butler's graduate programs through strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all marketing strategies and assets reflect and adhere to the Butler brand and messaging standards.
  • Represent the Marketing and Communications division on cross-functional committees and contribute to campus activities and institutional projects.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools.
  • Experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy.
  • Experience working with creative teams to develop digital and print assets.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills, including resolving challenges and generating solutions.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Prior higher education marketing experience and understanding of the higher education landscape.
  • Experience in Wordpress.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.
