About the Role

Associate Director, Paid Social at DEPT® is a leadership role responsible for managing complex paid social accounts, overseeing client relationships, and guiding team development within a pioneering digital agency. The role involves strategic planning, client communication, and fostering a positive, innovative work environment aligned with DEPT®'s values and global presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a deep understanding of platforms such as Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, UAC, and growth services including Programmatic, Decision Sciences, Creative, SEO/CRO, and their role within the client funnel.
  • Serving as the day-to-day contact and primary point of escalation for large paid media accounts and smaller to midsize accounts.
  • Owning, coordinating, and ensuring the successful completion of the client's entire account roadmap, aligned with client goals and priorities.
  • Staying up to date on paid social trends and understanding their impact on clients' business goals.
  • Owning the overall media planning strategy of accounts with support from Directors and Client Partners as needed.
  • Ensuring appropriate processes and best practices are in place for client management and leading their implementation when absent.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years paid social experience.
  • Proven track record of managing accounts with varying goals, spend levels, attribution models, and integrating agency tools and growth teams to improve performance.
  • Deep understanding of Meta Ads Manager and ability to communicate paid social goals, targets, and direct-response tactics to clients.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to oversee multiple projects, teach optimization tasks, and streamline account work through automation.
  • Experience communicating with high-level client contacts (C-levels, VPs+) to provide agency insights and build relationships.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to identify upsell opportunities across agency offerings and execute growth strategies.
  • Experience managing managers and mentoring team members into more senior roles.
  • Successful track record in sales pitches and audits.
  • Experience managing P&L and hitting margin targets.
  • Comfort working with third-party tracking platforms like Kenshoo or SA360.
  • Ability to quickly identify and argue for additional marketing channels such as SEO, display, mobile, or YouTube.
