About the Role

The Associate Director for RINVOQ Consumer Marketing at AbbVie will be responsible for leading the launch planning, strategy, and go-to-market execution for RINVOQ. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams and external agencies to develop and implement consumer marketing strategies, including messaging, tactics, and media planning, to support brand growth and patient engagement within the dermatology therapeutic area. The position reports to the Consumer Director of RINVOQ Dermatology and requires a collaborative, strategic leader with experience in consumer marketing and pharmaceutical launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead launch strategy development, go-to-market strategy, and tactical planning for potential new indications, including representation within the IBT through LSRs and LRR
  • Collaborate with external agencies, internal partners, and leadership to build, manage, and execute marketing plans to achieve business objectives and goals
  • Manage strategy and project development of DTC advertising for disease education, brand awareness, acquisition, and conversion initiatives through various channels including CRM, direct marketing, print, SEM, digital media, mobile, broadcast TV, and web-based communications
  • Manage media planning in partnership with the AbbVie Media team and external media agency
  • Work with internal cross-functional groups (Public Affairs, Professional Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Project Management) and external groups (Ad Agency, Digital and Media Agency, Database agency) to ensure integration and regulatory compliance
  • Develop a strategic roadmap and implement new use cases involving technological and operational capabilities with the Digital Lab organization
  • Use data-driven insights to understand marketplace trends and apply them to marketing strategies
  • Lead competitive assessment and analyze implications for specific indications and patients
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness through measurement and metrics to ensure ROI and brand objectives are met
  • Help patients better manage their conditions through improved experiences
  • Grow brand/product penetration, share, and awareness
  • Track and manage the marketing budget
  • Execute multiple marketing projects in a timely manner

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of consumer marketing experience with strong digital media expertise
  • Experience in pharmaceutical launch and media planning leadership
  • Proficiency in core marketing capabilities such as creative development, positioning, and optimization
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, manage timelines and budgets
  • Understanding of medical/clinical aspects of pharmaceutical products and their application to marketing
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and supporting strategic and tactical planning
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills
  • Experience managing external agencies including advertising, digital, and database agencies
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their marketing applications
  • Strong analytical and creative skills with the ability to influence senior management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of consumer marketing experience, especially in digital media
  • Experience in pharmaceutical product launch and strategic marketing
