About the Role

The Associate Principal, Analytics Advisory, Analytics & Insights at Amazon Advertising plays a key role in developing actionable insights using Amazon's data to influence advertising strategies. This position involves working within the Analytics & Insights organization, specifically in the Advisory Practice, to create brand-specific analyses, build relationships with high-level marketing decision makers, and represent Amazon Advertising in client meetings. The role focuses on enhancing marketing decision-making and campaign performance for high investment advertisers through advanced analytics and strategic guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently develop advanced brand-specific analyses and create templates for colleagues to leverage for other brands.
  • Conduct analyses leveraging previously untapped datasets to expand insights offered by the Advisory Practice.
  • Represent Amazon Advertising in meetings with advertisers and guide their leaders on advertising and marketing strategies.
  • Develop relationships with senior marketing decision makers and establish oneself as a go-to expert in at least one advanced analytical area of advertising.
  • Proactively identify issues and opportunities for advertisers before they do, addressing their needs.
  • Own an internal program that enhances the capabilities of the Practice or Analytics & Insights organization.
  • Write documents with recommendations that influence how partner teams operate, such as Account Management, Sales, or Product.
  • Master Amazon proprietary tools and metrics to solve advertisers' business questions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years' experience in client-facing data analysis roles.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience with a major consulting firm or 5+ years of advertising experience with a top advertiser (agency or client side).
  • Ability to translate technical analysis and metrics into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent data-driven storytelling skills with the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations with outstanding visuals to high-level stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, capable of writing complex queries from multiple tables.
  • Fluency with an advanced analytical tool (Python or R), with the ability to run advanced statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with advertising publishers and marketing/creative agencies.
  • MBA, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Advertising, or Business/Digital media planning experience.
  • Experience in a performance advertising role managing significant complexity and scaling challenges.
  • Experience in marketing campaign management, development, and execution.

  • Educational background including a Bachelor's degree; advanced degrees preferred (MBA, Master's, or Doctoral).
