About the Role

The Business Development Director - Healthcare Industry role at TCS is a leadership position focused on driving growth, building client relationships, and expanding TCS's presence in the healthcare sector within North America. The role involves strategic business development, market positioning, and leveraging healthcare industry expertise to facilitate transformation and innovation for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets: Meet and exceed sales goals to ensure consistent growth and profitability within the healthcare domain across payers, providers and PBM.
  • Lead generation and prospecting: Identify and qualify new business opportunities, utilizing a deep understanding of healthcare market trends, patient needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Client relationship management: Develop strong, sustainable relationships and referrals with senior management at targeted healthcare firms, including hospitals, clinics, and insurance providers.
  • Collaboration with internal teams: Work in close collaboration with TCS' market development and solution sales teams to ensure that proposed offerings and services fully meet the client's healthcare business and technology needs.
  • Client support: Provide comprehensive support to healthcare clients during initial phases of engagement, ensuring total client satisfaction through the lifecycle of the relationship.
  • Market research and competitive analysis: Support the team's market research and competitive positioning analysis, with a focus on healthcare industry trends and innovations.
  • Compliance and policy adherence: Adhere to all TCS corporate policies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Business development initiatives: Develop and implement strategic business development initiatives tailored to the healthcare sector, driving the transformation agenda forward.
  • Healthcare expertise: Leverage extensive knowledge of healthcare industry practices, patient care protocols, and technological advancements to position TCS as a leader in healthcare business transformation.

Requirements

  • Proven success in selling technology outsourcing and digital transformation services within the healthcare industry, with a strong hunter profile.
  • Consultative selling experience and ability to lead transformation and business-purpose driven discussions with healthcare clients.
  • Demonstration of consistent over-achievement of client acquisition goals.
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in selling the full spectrum of IT services, including Applications, Infrastructure, Digital, AI, and Business Process Services, specifically tailored to healthcare organizations.
  • Complex negotiation skills and experience managing large pursuits with healthcare clients.
  • Ability to develop strong, sustainable relationships and referrals with senior management at healthcare firms.
  • Proficiency in working closely with internal teams to meet healthcare business and technology needs.
  • Providing comprehensive client support during engagement lifecycle and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Supporting market research and competitive analysis focused on healthcare industry trends and innovations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to establish interest, credibility, and trust with healthcare stakeholders.
