The role of the Cash Applications Specialist involves processing and reconciling account receivables and remittances, addressing payment issues, and interfacing with customers for missing remittance or information to properly apply payments.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure cash is created in the system, posted to correct customer accounts, and applied down to the invoice level
Manage small balance adjustments related to the application of cash
Manage application of credits and invoices, including zero balance batches or adjustment batches
Manage unapplied cash (attached to the customer level but needing identification at the invoice level) and unidentified cash (requiring identification of the right customer/account and invoice)
Contact customers for remittance details
Provide brief responses to driver, KAR, customer, and sales team calls/questions/web inquiries regarding terms, pricing, credits, etc.
Work collaboratively with internal team members, such as the Research Specialist, to identify, address, and resolve financial items

Requirements

High School degree and 1-3 years' experience, with at least 1 year of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of accounting software - Oracle AR
Knowledge of internet software - browsers and search engines
Knowledge of spreadsheet software - Microsoft products
Knowledge of miscellaneous tools such as 9ci, Salesforce, CCAAS, Experian, Fintech, Icontol, banking software

Nice to Have

Previous experience in the Wine and Spirits Industry
NACM Certification
Associates degree or higher
3+ years of job-related experience

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of relevant experience
