About the Role

The Digital Media Specialist will assist the Hawaii Community College External Affairs Office in communicating with students, prospective students, and other stakeholders about changes and new opportunities related to distance education, basic needs initiatives, and changes to academic offerings and student services. This role involves developing communication projects, creating multimedia content, and supporting outreach efforts to ensure effective dissemination of information to the college community and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Develop communications projects and priorities in collaboration with supervisor.
Shoot and edit video and still photos for distribution through social media, the web, and other platforms.
Coordinate with Hawaii CC faculty, staff, and students to schedule and execute projects.
Gather information and conduct research in support of projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May require travel to various locations on Hawaii Island.

Requirements

Possession of a bachelor's degree in Creative Media, Digital Media or related field.
One year of professional experience as a digital media specialist, videographer, photographer, or in a related position, or equivalent education/training or experience.
Experience shooting and editing video and photos for multiple purposes, including social media and distribution to the web and news media.
Experience capturing high-quality audio to accompany video projects.
Experience creating engaging social media content and posting videos and photos to various social media platforms.
Proficiency with video editing and photo editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Creative Media, Digital Media or related field.
1 year of professional experience or equivalent education/training.

Benefits & Perks

This is a temporary, casual hire position with no eligibility for most benefits provided to regular employees.
Hourly wage of $25.72/hour.
