About the Role

This role is categorized as HYBRID, requiring the successful candidate to report to Cadillac Tower at least three times per week. As a Commercial Product Marketing Manager for Heavy & Medium Duty Truck Programs at General Motors, you will act as the representative of the GM Envolve (fleet) customer throughout the product development process. Your responsibilities include providing input on vehicle content, developing business cases, capturing customer feedback, and managing content packaging, trim strategy, production timing, pricing, and technology evaluation. The role emphasizes prioritizing the customer's perspective to deliver vehicles that lead the segment and meet customer expectations. You will also manage and develop multiple employees, collaborate with various teams, and represent GM Envolve at industry events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the product content for future vehicle programs in collaboration with the Program Execution Team and advocate for the fleet customer.
  • Assess customer needs and align vehicle roles across commercial, government, and small business segments with GM's retail strategy.
  • Ensure the commercial vehicle offering is profitable, captures market share, and complies with GM's regulatory goals.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for product content, packaging, and pricing, and evaluate the vehicle's competitive strength against key rivals.
  • Lead strategic planning for the lifecycle of the assigned vehicle program, incorporating the voice of the customer throughout the product development process.
  • Provide insights on volume forecasts and pricing recommendations, collaborating with VSSM Finance.
  • Develop dealer order guides and supporting materials, and support launches and updates for model years.
  • Identify customer needs and highlight product wins for effective communication.
  • Assist in developing training materials and deliver messaging in consumer and dealer communications, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to obtain legal affidavits for advertising claims.
  • Represent GM Envolve at trade shows and customer meetings, showcasing products and solutions.
  • Conduct market research and analyze data to gain marketing insights and identify competitive opportunities.
  • Develop creative marketing campaigns and collaborate with external vendors for promotional events.
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external partners, including dealerships, agencies, and government entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Commercial Sales, Product/Brand Marketing, Vehicle Engineering, or Product Development Process
  • Subject Matter Expert of Heavy/Medium Duty vehicles
  • Experience conducting presentations, including in large settings
  • Prior people leadership experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Business Administration

Qualifications

  • Legal ability to operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis
  • Successful completion of Motor Vehicle Report review
