About the Role

WJCL, the ABC affiliate in Savannah, Georgia, is seeking a Creative Services Director who can create and develop targeted, research-driven marketing and promotional campaigns that connect the station's brand to viewers across multi-media platforms. The role involves managing multiple projects, elevating the station's brand image, leading a creative team, and reporting to the President and General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, lead, and implement the brand marketing of the station
  • Manage production of compelling image, sweeps, and special event campaigns for all platforms
  • Directly produce or manage the creative team on the production of station/news image, targeted special reports, daily topicals, commercials, programming, and special event campaigns for all platforms
  • Schedule staff station promotional events
  • Provide inspiration and direction to grow the creative team skills
  • Coordinate and fulfill special projects
  • Produce and post targeted social media marketing
  • Identify dynamic multi-platform strategies to increase station brand awareness and ratings
  • Manage daily promotional on-air content and inventory for daily on-air logs
  • Attend outside community functions or meetings
  • Identify strategies for increasing station brand awareness and resonance
  • Liaise with network, syndicators, and community leaders regarding station promotional activities
  • Develop and monitor the department's annual budget and expenses

Requirements

  • 5 years in station marketing, promotion, or brand management
  • Must be creative, a compelling writer, videographer/photographer, editor, and able to use research to meet station goals
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, videography, photography, Wide Orbit, and ENPS
  • Ability to lead, create, critique creative concepts and graphic treatments for the station brand
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with news staff and station personnel
  • Ability to critique graphic treatments for the station brand
  • Valid driver's license (hire is contingent on good driving record)
  • Related military experience will be considered

Qualifications

  • Experience in station marketing, promotion, or brand management
  • Proficiency with creative and editing tools
  • Knowledge of broadcast industry software and equipment
