About the Role

Join CBS Texas as a creative writer and producer to help grow our news brand through innovative marketing. The role involves generating daily brand marketing content across linear and digital platforms, working collaboratively with the news team, and contributing to community engagement and brand development. The candidate should believe in local journalism's role in community betterment and aim to offer hope and solutions through their work.

Key Responsibilities

Write, produce, and edit daily marketing messages that help grow our brand
Assist with field/location production
Work directly with reporters and anchors to authentically market the content of our news products
Attend and contribute to daily news planning meetings on-site and remotely
Generate and post creative social media messaging and OTT marketing daily to drive viewership to our newscasts
Assist with other department projects including brand development and content creation
Assist with station community events and activations

Requirements

Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce effective marketing with conversational messaging and use of elements
Strong copywriting skills for broadcast and social media with experience on Facebook and YouTube platforms
Advanced knowledge of Premiere editing

Nice to Have

A passion for local journalism and serving the community
Videography, lighting, and overall production skills
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, iNEWS, and WideOrbit
Experience working in news marketing

Qualifications

Experience working in news marketing is preferred
Passionate fans of local journalism who want to grow with the brand and make a community difference
