About the Role

Spotify Advertising's Creative Lab is seeking a seasoned Creative Strategy Lead to join our awarded and tenured creative strategy team dedicated to inspiring the best ideas centered around Spotify through proactive and reactive pitching, co-creating and building with our biggest brands, creators, and advertisers today. We work collaboratively with brands and agencies to inspire, create, and scale creativity with Spotify-first thinking. The role involves building brand experiences that demonstrate the creative, cultural, and contextual potential of Spotify that fans love, and supporting sell-through and execution of sold programs including on-platform media, content sponsorships, integrated solutions, custom API executions, and live event extensions. The position reports directly to the Head of Creative Strategy, Americas, and requires working closely with internal teams, sales, clients, and external partners to develop innovative campaigns and strategic proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a leader and expert within the Creative Strategy team by growing and managing the largest revenue driving verticals, displaying authentic partnership skills with sales and other cross functional teams, partnering closely with senior leadership on core strategic business challenges, and elevating the love and dedication to Spotify both internally and externally.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while helping team members and taking on additional projects when necessary.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership within Spotify and the industry by pushing the boundaries of creative possibilities in team and client meetings, workshops, and industry events.
  • Build effective, unique, and award-winning campaigns that communicate the Spotify-first strategy and are recognized within the creative community.
  • Own the strategy of proposals and projects from start to finish, uniting music and podcast solutions across audience segments, brand building tactics, and content.
  • Develop proposals aligned with brand briefs through clear goals, research, rationale, strategies, and tactics.
  • Navigate the push and pull between client needs and creative dreams, acting as the problem-solving bridge between revenue and creative.
  • Define and refine Spotify's value proposition related to product recommendations to elevate client conversations and connect their metrics to Spotify products.
  • Develop compelling programs that are thoughtful, effective, and highlight Spotify’s vision for partnership resulting in client success.
  • Serve as a strategic partner within Spotify, bringing together cross functional teams to enhance client-ready work.
  • Drive and participate in creative conceptualization on RFPs through collaborative brainstorms.
  • Develop and maintain a library of marketing materials, collateral, assets, and performance tracking data.
  • Meet campaign deadlines in an organized manner, efficiently multitask under pressure, and seek feedback to improve work and surface opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to refine workflows across teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in creative strategy, sales marketing, digital media/advertising at a platform, publisher, or agency.
  • Proven track record supporting sales teams in a marketing capacity.
  • Strong understanding of the digital media space, brand storytelling, and strategic responses.
  • Experience collaborating with high-caliber clients and translating their needs to creative teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite products, design, and project management software.
  • Expert copywriting and communication skills, with experience crafting compelling ideas and selling points.
  • Creative thinker and clever wordsmith with the ability to see the big picture and dive into details.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to understand partner priorities and navigate multiple perspectives.
  • Resourcefulness and proactive problem-solving abilities.
