Job Description

About the Role

United Sports Brands is seeking a Digital Asset Specialist to oversee the intake, organization, routing, and deployment of digital content assets across our portfolio of athlete-driven brands. This role ensures creative assets are delivered accurately on time and optimized for use across our global omni-channel ecosystem—including retail partners, DTC, email, paid media, organic social, events, and print. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with creative, marketing, and digital teams, and involves implementing scalable systems, AI-enhanced tools, and proactive communication to streamline creative operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital assets: intake, review, version control, tagging, rights management, deployment, and archival.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative (Creative Director, designers, content creator), project management, brand marketing, e-comm, and field marketing to define asset needs by campaign, channel, and partner.
  • Coordinate pre and post-production steps for ecom product photography.
  • Own the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system (Brandfolder preferred), ensuring accurate tagging, logical organization, and consistent accessibility.
  • Support DAM access governance by maintaining user permissions and facilitating asset request workflows.
  • Deliver assets to multiple platforms and partners, including Salsify, DTC platforms, Amazon, and global retailers.
  • Maintain and organize shared server folders, and upload key image assets into Figma libraries for use by the design team across brand toolkits and systems.
  • Maintain archival systems for legacy campaign assets and evergreen content to ensure long-term usability and brand continuity.
  • Manage retouching workflows with internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate the delivery of campaign and product toolkits and communicate availability to internal teams.
  • Own internal and external communication around asset availability—proactively sharing updates when new content or toolkits go live.
  • Ensure compliance with usage rights and licensing for all content (e.g., athlete, influencer, agency).
  • Refine metadata taxonomy, naming conventions, and folder structures using AI-assisted tagging or classification tools where appropriate.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered tools (including Brandfolder AI and ChatGPT) to streamline asset management, improve discoverability, and accelerate workflow.
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies relevant to creative operations and recommend systems that enhance scalability and precision.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Digital Asset Management or Creative Operations for retail, sports, or lifestyle brands.
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Information Science, Project Management, Creative Services, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with DAM platforms (Brandfolder preferred) and managing files across multiple systems (e.g., shared servers, Figma).
  • Bonus for experience with Figma, Salsify, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with eComm product photography workflows, including retouching pipelines and studio asset delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata tagging, digital content rights, licensing, and developing naming conventions or folder hierarchies.
  • Understanding of file formats, compression best practices, and optimization for web, print, and social channels.
  • Experience supporting global markets and retail/eComm go-to-market timelines.
  • Proven ability to translate creative intent into asset requirements, manage multiple stakeholders, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at prioritizing tasks and timelines across cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Background in managing toolkits, usage guides, and brand portals.
  • Experience with AI-powered tagging, image recognition, or auto-classification tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Information Science, Project Management, Creative Services, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in digital asset management or creative operations.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range of $55,000 - $75,000 annually.
  • Potential eligibility for bonuses and a wide range of benefits including health & wellness benefits, retirement plans, time off, and employee discounts.
