About the Role

The Digital Commerce Director at Daniel Defense is responsible for overseeing the company's e-commerce platform, digital marketing initiatives, and related functions. The role involves providing visionary leadership, ensuring website performance and security, coordinating marketing efforts, and supporting company growth through digital channels. Key Responsibilities

  • Embody the principles of our mission and values, acting as a servant leader providing visionary guidance fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Work with Technology Department to ensure the best hosting/management solution is in place to handle future growth and security protocols.
  • Oversee day-to-day functions and growth of the e-commerce site, Daniel Defense.com, as well as e-commerce campaigns.
  • Ensure sites are up to date with most current product descriptions and inventories.
  • Research and brainstorm new ideas and procedures with appropriate teams/departments.
  • Coordinate digital marketing initiatives designed to complement overall sales and marketing strategy.
  • Manage e-mail marketing campaigns to include follow-up reporting and suggestions for best practices.
  • Coordinate future design updates for the e-commerce site, including design and functionality improvements.
  • Participate in cross-departmental groups to accomplish WIG goals as set forth by team and team leader.
  • Attend trade shows and other company-related events to provide support and expertise.
  • Conduct ongoing research and analysis of competitor websites and e-commerce practices.
  • Continuously learn through e-commerce conferences and summits.
  • Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide support, training, and development to team members to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Contribute to company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment, and a positive work environment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5-10 years of experience managing websites and leading or developing co-located and remote teams, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of internet best practices and their impact on SEO.
  • Experience with internet marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition, retention, and growth.
  • Experience managing website technical structure, design, aesthetics, content, navigation, information architecture, branding, performance, and functionality.
  • Expertise in backend website development and ability to specify technical changes to development teams.
  • In-depth understanding of search engines, SEO, and factors influencing high Google rankings.
  • Experience with PPC management and successful link-building campaigns.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and their impact on SEO.
  • Ability to analyze search data, metrics, and campaign performance to identify growth opportunities.
  • Strong customer service and internal networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a remote team environment.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
  • Experience with managing and directing website performance and digital marketing campaigns.
