About the Role

The Digital Marketing Consultant (Sales - Business Development) role involves leading sales efforts focused on digital platforms within the Washington DC, Baltimore, or Philadelphia region. The position requires prospecting and closing new clients, providing diverse advertising and marketing solutions, and collaborating with clients to enhance their online presence through website development, SEO, social media, and other digital strategies. It offers an opportunity to utilize regional marketing services, foster local business partnerships, and develop tailored account plans to achieve marketing goals in a dynamic digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and close new clients through full cycle sales efforts, including face-to-face meetings, presentations, proposals, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide advertising and marketing solutions such as website development, SEO, social media management, and reputation management.
  • Generate awareness and leads via search engine marketing, social media engagement, display advertising, video content, and mobile advertising.
  • Manage leads and customer relationships using lead alert systems, engagement tools, and tracking mechanisms.
  • Analyze campaign effectiveness using reporting tools, mobile applications, and emerging technologies like Virtual and Augmented Reality.
  • Identify customer needs and develop tailored account plans and solutions that differentiate our services.
  • Assist businesses in optimizing their online presence through personalized digital and print marketing strategies.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies across multiple platforms including digital media, mobile, niche publications, promotions, and traditional newspapers.
  • Actively pursue and secure new business and revenue streams, and retain and expand the client base.
  • Manage client relationships within a team, ensuring account growth and increased revenue.
  • Present the company's product suite effectively to business decision-makers.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients via phone, video conferencing, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Conduct face-to-face customer meetings, presentations, proposals, and demonstrations.
  • Manage a sales pipeline and devise strategies for long-term success.
  • Conduct regular client check-ins, upsell/cross-sell accounts, and address client concerns regarding market share.
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) effectively, recording all sales activities accurately.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Digital Marketing, with certifications such as Google AdWords and Analytics preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in high acquisition, consultative B2B sales roles.
  • Successful track record in building a new book of business.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Competitive nature combined with a collaborative team spirit.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and minimum liability insurance as required by law.
