About the Role

The Digital Marketing Consultant (Sales - Business Development) role involves leading sales efforts focused on digital platforms within the Washington DC, Baltimore, or Philadelphia region. The position requires prospecting and closing new clients, providing diverse advertising and marketing solutions, and collaborating with clients to enhance their online presence through website development, SEO, social media, and other digital strategies. The role combines in-person and remote work, emphasizing energetic, strategic, and entrepreneurial spirit to foster local business partnerships and achieve marketing goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and close new clients through full cycle sales efforts, including face-to-face meetings, presentations, proposals, and demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement tailored digital and print marketing strategies that enhance their online presence.
  • Identify customer needs and develop account plans and client solutions that differentiate our services from competitors.
  • Manage leads and customer relationships using lead alert systems, engagement tools, and tracking mechanisms.
  • Analyze campaign effectiveness using reporting tools, mobile applications, and emerging technologies like Virtual and Augmented Reality.
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) effectively, recording all sales activities accurately.
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers via phone, video conferencing (MS Teams, Zoom), email, and in-person meetings.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies across multiple platforms including digital media, mobile, niche publications, promotions, and traditional newspapers.
  • Pursue and secure new business and revenue streams, and expand existing client accounts.
  • Manage a sales pipeline and devise strategies for long-term success.
  • Conduct regular client check-ins, upsell/cross-sell accounts, and address client concerns regarding market share.
  • Foster partnerships with local businesses and assist them in achieving marketing goals.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Digital Marketing; Google AdWords and Analytics certifications are preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in high acquisition, consultative B2B sales roles.
  • Successful track record in building a new book of business.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Competitive nature with a collaborative team spirit.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and minimum liability insurance as required by law.

Nice to Have

  • Google AdWords and Analytics certifications.
