About the Role

The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Center of Excellence Audience Strategy & Community Team is responsible for developing fan-first editorial, social engagement, and creator strategies across flagship brand platforms representing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney+, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures. This team manages community engagement, UGC and creator sourcing, campaign execution, and digital cultural relevance through deep audience connection and integration into wider digital storytelling workflows. The role offers an opportunity for someone passionate about building community and bringing the fan voice to life across some of the world's most beloved entertainment brands. Multiple Digital Marketing Specialist positions are available supporting various Disney brands, supporting projects through 9/25/2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support specific handles by contributing to the development and maintenance of the monthly community engagement calendar across assigned platforms.
  • Execute daily community engagement tactics including outreach, surprise & delight opportunities, and UGC sourcing in partnership with vendors and internal teams.
  • Manage owned post engagements as well as outbound engagement opportunities to fans and talent, ensuring appropriate reviews and approvals.
  • Partner with other specialists to ensure community engagement ideation and execution is shared.
  • Work with brand digital teams and managers to validate community engagement plans and ensure alignment with brand and campaign strategies.
  • Align with brand teams on key themes, formats, and platforms to source opportunities; work within the team to source engagement and UGC opportunities based on business priorities.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to recognize and grow community engagement efforts from digital spaces to events, premieres, and beyond.
  • Collaborate with team members to ideate new engagement concepts that highlight fan creativity, celebrate moments, and connect with audiences authentically.
  • Write engagement-focused copy and recommend creative assets aligned with campaign and brand goals.
  • Draft and edit engagement copy that aligns with brand voice, tone, and platform best practices; route for review and approval before posting.
  • Ideate new social concepts to engage and entertain digital audiences, leaning into applicable brand-safe trends.
  • Stay abreast of digital trends, fan behaviors, platform innovations, and cultural moments to inform strategy and execution.
  • Surface relevant insights to inform content planning and engagement tactics.
  • Identify and recommend new formats and moments for fan engagement based on digital trends.
  • Support community activities such as UGC, premium mailers, creator content, and surprise & delight initiatives.
  • Liaise with stakeholders for approvals, deliver final assets, and ensure content is aligned with marketing plans.
  • Support brand digital teams on event community engagement moments as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams through content development lifecycle from strategy to final delivery.
  • Support amplification and engagement of studio and franchise priorities across relevant channels.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and appreciation for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Disney+ and relevant upcoming titles.
  • Minimum of 2+ years social media or community management experience within consumer-facing media or global brand.
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills with a clear understanding of brand voice and tone.
  • Familiarity with digital trends, fandom culture, and social platform best practices.
  • Experience managing editorial calendars and working within approval workflows.
  • Passion for storytelling and listening to community feedback.
  • Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking.
  • Superior knowledge of social platforms and their native products.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
  • Polished presentation and communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to use data for content decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and Box.
  • Understanding of social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and high confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, or relevant field, or 5+ years of experience in addition to 2+ years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools such as AirTable, Smartsheets, and Zendesk.
  • Experience with Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote, Google Slides.
  • Experience within brand entertainment marketing and/or streaming services.
  • Previous experience working with large, matrixed organizations.
  • Familiarity with theatrical campaign marketing, streaming platforms, or brand marketing.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, or relevant field, or 5+ years of experience in addition to 2+ years of relevant experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range in California from $64,300 to $86,200 per year.
  • Potential bonus and/or long-term incentive units.
